Dedicated in 2017
The Paradise Hills Civic Association worked with the Bernalillo County Public Art Program to bring Christopher Weeds' sculpture "Cornflowers" to Paradise Hills.
The disturbed areas underneath the installation have been repurposed as a wildlife garden and replanted with species naive to the Basalt Hills.
Design, identification of plant species, construction and planting began in 2017 and continues today. Donations of plants and seeds came from neighborhood gardens, the Open Space Program, the Bernalillo County Public Arts Program the Paradise Hills Civic Association and the Haley Family.
Generous amounts of labor were provided by Paradise Hills United methodist Church Scout Troop 764. The troop is sponsored by the Men's Fellowship of the Paradise United Methodist Church. The troop provided a community service clean-up during the Great American Clean-up Event with Bernalillo County providing materials. The troop and Eagle Scout Advisor, organized two Eagle Scout Projects for the upper and lower wildlife garden.
